You want the world to love you

But you don’t love yourself

Your yearnings tower above you

There’s always one more shelf

There’s always one step higher

There’s always one yard more

Another happy liar

What Are You Living For?

And this is one step higher

Contentment’s run away

You should be feeling happy

Need another fix today?

Need another fix today?

Need another fix today?

Need another fix today?

Need another fix today?

There’s always one step higher

There’s always one yard more

Another happy liar

What Are You Living For?

(Instrumental)

Stretch again to your tip toes

Reaching out for one more gain

Just one more centimeter

Then everything is “great” again

Everything is “great” again

Everything is “great” again

Everything is “great” again

Everything is “great” again

There’s always one step higher

There’s always one yard more

Another happy liar

What Are You Living For?

There’s always one step higher

There’s always one yard more

Another happy liar

What Are You Living For?!

The Story of 'What Are You Living For?'

What Are You Living For?

Written whilst I was still stuck in the corporate world but well on the way to fully waking up and getting out.

I saw this tyoe of behaviour a lot in those days, having first recognised it in myself earlier of course. We're conditioned into thinking that we will be happy if we just make it to the next level or gain the next bit of stuff. But of course that doesn't happen, and when you try to make yourself happy merely through material gain you're always ultimately left disappointed and wondering 'What Are You Living For?'
