The Story of 'Just To Let You Know'

Here's an example of a composition that follows one of my song writing formulas. The structure is one I've used quite a few times, where the same chords are used for the verses and the chorus but in half time/double time, and separated by a variation in the bridge.

The subject matter is made up, based on an imaginary situation where you're calling someone you used to know and love years previously, hoping that this time they are going to call you back! There's a formula to the lyrics too, wherby the story resolves itself.

I had the idea for this one in 1991 Gregorian, wrote the first verse, bridge and chorus in 1997 and dug the song out again 17 years later to do a camper van demo. It was then I thought I would finish it off with the 'looking back over the years' idea.

It's cheesy pop and doesn't mean anything, but the chorus is catchy and it's fun to play. Give it a go!
