The thought of you can put a look in my eye

I share it with you face to face

A look returned from you can mystify, or justify my place

A touch from you can rush the blood through my veins

and flush emotion into me

'The Word' re-learned with you can make me high and terrify my soul

I shouldn’t share this with you, it puts you one up on me

If I could get through to you, there's so much you would see

But you, screw me up inside and there is nothing I can do

There's nowhere I can hide from you

The taste of you can drive my senses insane

I hunger for you more and more..(and more..)

I feed on scraps of you I'm losing weight and choosing hate, or love?

I shouldn’t share this with you, it puts you one up on me

If I could get through to you, there's so much you would see

(Repeat)

'Cause you, screw me up inside and there is nothing I can do

There's nowhere I can hide from you

Yeah you, screw me up inside but I could do it to

'Cause there's nothing you can hide from me

You, screwed me up inside but there is no more you can do

There's nothing you can hide from me

Yeah you, screwed me up inside but I can do it too

So you'd better run and hide

Because I'm coming after you......

The Story of 'Screw Me Up Inside'...

Written late one night after we'd been to an 'Airhead' gig. The lyrics are based on the wonderment of how someone can drive your senses insane and inspire both love and hate at the same time. So you tell yourself that you can do it too, you can give as good as you get and turn the tables.

Cliff (Coates) and I were very big on ensuring songs 'resolved' themselves like a good story should and I think this is a good example of that, where the 'victim' realises they can take the power back...
